It was a Halloween theme! I couldn't pass that up.

Here is my completed rendering Pet Zombie Creations painting Crying Jealousy in fabric on a 14" wide tote (all from scratch!) with a couple of my Postcards, a Charm, an Autumn Black Rose, a couple Moocards and a wooden coffin full of candy.

As you can see I decided to do something a little different. I was itching to do another fabric portrait and found this to be a perfect opportunity! I thought PZC's painting would be perfect with it's undead, zombie-like feel for the Halloween theme. The colors were chosen not only to compliment the image but pink, purple and black (in that order ;D) are her favorite colors. Voila, PZ's gotta brand new bag.

Ok it wasn't as simple as I make it out to be. You can get a glimpse of my madness in my in-progress pics on my Flickr photostream.
Enjoy!

More to come as always!
After the Burning Heart bag revamp, Lucky Cat & Not-Sock Monkey that is!!

To those still waiting on me: Sorry to be so slow, this last project was a needle in my paw and I had a few other small things to get done along with. I haven't forgotten I promise :D

So here's yet another stage in the large applique I decided to drive myself crazy(-er) with.

Excuse the pins!
The hair (red floss) and brim of the hat were all done by hand, as my poor thumb can attest. All other accent stitching were done on my poor ole Singer with a zipper foot. I tried my clear foot initially but with all those layers the zipper foot worked best anyway since it has more up and down give. It was also easier to get around a lot of curves without having to lift the foot ever few stitches.

Anywho, I haven't completely decided on a border yet. Ribbon with mitered corners maybe? Hmm.

I've been working on the applique project since my last post pretty much non-stop aside from a dinner break. After carefully layering bit by tiny bit, this is what I have as of 5:15am!

It's only ironed at this point with no stitching. A the very least I will tightly zigzag the edge in black, taking off the selvage and excess (folded under for the pic), before sewing it onto the pillow. I've also decided to hand sew the detail stitches, further proving my insanity :D

I'm loving it so far! Okay, time for bed... maybe.

Very circular (in the layout) and a bit Zen. LOL I think I might make more of these. It was fun and very brain stimulating.(We'll see if I still say that when I'm done!)

I got an itch to applique a pillow I made from an unused feather pillow & Chenille fabric, 21"x21". Yes, it's an odd size but it fits my couch.
